Stamp Duty Holiday News

With many people asking the question “will the stamp duty holiday end in march” we can report that according to numerous sources, the government DOES NOT plan to extend the stamp duty holiday – due to end on the 31st March 2021.
Following the launch of a partition which apparently gained 22,156 signatures, the government have responded with the following statement…
“The SDLT holiday was designed to be a temporary relief to stimulate market activity and support jobs that rely on the property market.
“The government does not plan to extend this temporary relief. As the relief was to provide an immediate stimulus to the property market, the government does not plan to extend it”
It has been reported that as a result, buy to let investments have increased, with landlords rushing to take advantage of the stamp duty holiday before it comes to an end in March.
